Megan Markle se confie sur sa fausse couche
Meghan Markle, la duchesse du Sussex a révélé qu’elle avait fait une fausse couche en juillet, donnant un compte-rendu personnel de cette expérience traumatisante dans l’espoir d’aider les autres.
Meghan a décrit la fausse couche dans un article d’opinion paru dans le New York Times mercredi.
Dans un récit étonnamment intime de son expérience, la duchesse a décrit comment la tragédie a frappé un « matin qui commençait aussi ordinairement que n’importe quel autre jour : Préparer le petit déjeuner. Nourrir les chiens. Prendre des vitamines. Trouvez la chaussette manquante. Ramassez le crayon de couleur qui a roulé sous la table. Mettre mes cheveux en queue de cheval avant de sortir mon fils de son berceau.
Elle raconte avoir « ressenti une forte crampe » alors qu’elle était en train de changer la couche de son fils. « Je me laissais tomber sur le sol avec lui dans mes bras, fredonnant une berceuse pour que nous restions tous les deux calmes, la mélodie joyeuse contrastant fortement avec mon sentiment que quelque chose n’allait pas. Je savais, en agrippant mon premier-né, que je perdais mon deuxième. »

Meghan Markle raconte également combien Harry a souffert tout en étant impuissant face à la perte de leur enfant.
« J’ai senti la moiteur de sa paume et embrassé sa main où coulaient nos larmes.
En regardant les murs blancs et froids, mes yeux sont devenus vitreux.
J’ai essayé d’imaginer comment nous allions guérir », a-t-elle déclaré, et de poursuivre : « Assise dans un lit d’hôpital, regardant le cœur de mon mari se fissurer alors qu’il essayait de recoller mes morceaux brisés, j’ai réalisé que la seule façon de commencer à guérir était de d’abord me demander : ‘Ça va ?' »Un « chagrin insurmontable » auquel sont confrontés de nombreux couples « mais dont peu de personnes parlent ».
« Dans la douleur de notre perte, mon mari et moi avons découvert que dans une pièce de 100 femmes, 10 à 20 d’entre elles auraient souffert d’une fausse couche« , souffle-t-elle, et de conseiller aux personnes qui ont perdu un enfant de briser ce qu’elle considère comme étant encore un « tabou » : « En étant invités à partager notre douleur, nous faisons ensemble les premiers pas vers la guérison.»
Sophie King, sage-femme de Tommy’s, une organisation caritative britannique pour la perte d’enfants, a déclaré que les fausses couches restaient « un véritable tabou dans la société, et que le fait que des mères comme Meghan partagent leurs histoires est une étape essentielle pour faire tomber cette stigmatisation et cette honte« .
