Les bons Samaritains sont partout et ils sortent souvent de leur zone de confort pour aider ceux qui sont dans le besoin quand on s’y attend le moins.
Denny Kukich est l’une de ces personnes bienveillantes qui a appris à quel point il peut être agréable d’aider les autres lorsqu’il a offert son propre argent pour payer le déjeuner de soldats.
Source: FlickrLorsque Denny monta à bord de son avion, tout ce à quoi il aspirait était à lire son livre et se reposer. Bientôt, un groupe de dix soldats sont montés à bord et se sont assis près de Denny.
« Où allez-vous? » Demanda Denny au soldat le plus proche de lui selon Love What Matters . « Petawawa. Nous serons là pendant deux semaines pour un entraînement spécial, puis nous serons déployés en Afghanistan », a répondu le soldat.
Une heure plus tard, alors qu’ils étaient déjà dans les airs, le personnel a annoncé que tout le monde pouvait avoir un repas à 5$. Alors que Denny cherchait son portefeuille, il a entendu deux soldats qui se parlaient.
« Non, cela semble être beaucoup d’argent pour un simple déjeuner. Ca ne vaut probablement pas cinq dollars. J’attendrai jusqu’à ce que nous arrivions à la base », a déclaré l’un d’eux et les autres ont acquiescés.
Sachant que le vol seul durerait encore plusieurs heures, sans parler du temps nécessaire aux soldats pour se rendre à leur base, Denny se leva et tendit un billet de cinquante dollars à l’agent de bord, affirmant que c’était pour les repas des soldats.
« Mon fils était un soldat en Irak. C’est presque comme si vous le faisiez pour lui », répondit l’hôtesse les larmes aux yeux, reconnaissante pour sa contribution au service des soldats.
Après avoir apporté les repas aux dix soldats, l’agent de bord a également organisé un repas de première classe exclusivement pour Denny. Heureux de pouvoir aider, Denny s’est rendu aux toilettes lorsqu’un autre passager l’a approché et lui a dit : « j’ai vu ce que vous avait fait. Je veux participer. Prenez-ça », en lui tendant 25 dollars.
Ensuite, deux autres passagers ont donné à Denny 25 dollars chacun, pour un total de 75 dollars.
Alors que le Bon Samaritain était assis sur son siège et attendait que l’avion atterrisse, le commandant de bord lui-même s’est approché de lui, a souri et lui a tendu la main. « Je veux vous serrer la main », dit-il.
« J’étais un soldat. Un pilote. Une fois, quelqu’un m’a payé un déjeuner. C’est un acte de bonté que je n’ai jamais oublié », a déclaré le commandant de bord pendant que les autres passagers le saluaient sous un tonnerre d’applaudissements.
Dernier acte de bonté, Denny a de nouveau approché les soldats après avoir quitté l’avion et remis les 75 $ qu’il avait reçus d’autres passagers.
« Il vous faudra un peu de temps pour atteindre la base… vous aurez le temps de prendre un sandwich. Dieu vous bénisse, dit-il ».
